Chapter 6 Overview
Chapter Overview:
Try to take a second to look objectively at your life. Think about everything you have learned. Think about when you learned to ride a bike or swim. Think about the first time you ever saw a computer and how much you know now compared to the amount you knew when you first turned it on. You can almost associate anything you do today to “learning”. This chapter will explore the origins of learning theory, more specifically behaviourism. From Pavlov to Bandura, different learning theories have been some of the most influential contributors to understanding human behaviour in the 20th Century.
The chapter is divided into 5 sections:
6.1 Classical Conditioning
6.2 Operant Conditioning
6.3 Cognitive Social Learning
6.4 The Biology of Learning
6.5 Using Conditioning and Learning Principles
