Chapter 8 Overview

Chapter Overview:

Are you an intelligent person? I am sure you are, but in what way. How do you define intelligence? Is a person who is good at math more intelligent than a person who is good in foods? Does having a high IQ but few social skills make you more intelligent than someone with an average IQ but great social skills. Depending on who you ask, you may get answers that surprise you. In this chapter you will investigate this very question: What is intelligence?

You will explore such topics as thinking, language development and various types of intelligence. We’ll take a look at how these three characteristics all have a function in what we consider intelligence.

The chapter is divided into 4 sections:
