Section 13.1  Trait Theories

This section focuses on the first major personality theory – Trait Theory. Your text defines a trait as a relatively stable personal characteristic used to describe someone. Trait theorists such as Allport and Eysenck have given us terminology that are common in popular psychology today and provide us with methods to measure the degree that someone fits one of these traits.
