This section discusses psychoanalytic theory, a theory that attempts to “explain” personality. The leading figure of this theory is none other than Sigmund Freud. To many, Freud is probably the most influential and infamous theorist in psychology and although he is considered the father of psychoanalysis, others followed in his footsteps.
